My Why...
I started my pregnancy off in Birmingham city, UK and continued my journey in Germany. I laboured in silence, I gave birth in silence and I took my baby home to silence.
I missed doing all things ‘baby’ that I know I would have done if I were still living in the UK. I was lonely. I struggled. A few years later, a few completed German language courses later, my business was born The little Nestling Place. Six years later and with more growth Urban Birth Plus has evolved;
Because of my passion to continue working with babies and families, to offer nurturing support and knowledge to all parents.
Because of my own experiences and struggles as a Black, first time foreign mama in a new country.
Because no-one should birth in fear and be left with a negative experience of what should be the most amazing, life changing experience.
To FULLY support Black and Brown families. Because REPRESENTATION MATTERS.
To help support families who have moved to a non English speaking country, facing the challenges of becoming a parent with no extended family for emotional, mental or physical support.
To connect people with people because after all, sometimes it does take a village and by coming together we aim to tackle some of that isolation and create community bonds that last a life time.
